Do I need to bring a sewing machine or other supplies? After you register, you will be sent an attendance packet outlining what materials, if any, you should bring, depending on the classes you have registered for.
If I cannot make the March seminar, when is the next seminar? Feel free to email info@csisews.com with suggestions for locations and topics for seminars. At this time, all scheduled seminars are posted at www.csisews.com
Will all future seminars be held in Navasota at Camp Allen? No, some seminars will be held in other locations, depending on the type of seminar and requests from interested attendees.
Can I have private room without a roommate? Yes, for an additional fee, which is listed on the registration page.
Will there be vendors? Vendors will provide brochures, discount coupons and some giveaways.
Do I have to be a member of a workroom association or group? No, all workroom owners or employees are welcome to attend the Camp Allen weekend for fabricators and workrooms, regardless of affiliation or lack thereof.
Do I have to be in business or can I attend if I am considering opening a workroom? The Camp Allen weekend for fabricators and workrooms is geared to appeal to mid-level and advanced experience levels. Beginners may be interested in attending an upcoming Boot Camp event.
Why should I attend this seminar over others? The central Texas location, hands-on classes and small group networking is a fantastic and unusual opportunity to learn and practice new techniques as well as meet colleagues in your general vicinity.
Will you be selling supplies/books/materials at the seminar?
Yes, several industry publications particularly relating to the event will be sold. Other items of interest to workrooms will be sold as well.
How do I register?
Go to the registration page on this site, select your classes and provide payment. Remember, some of the hands-on classes have limited seating to provide maximum learning to the attendees, so register soon!
What is the appropriate dress for the seminar?
Be comfortable! You will be sitting in seminar classrooms, taking photos, chatting, having meals and probably fabricating some items, so wear comfortable clothing.
Will I have samples to show clients when I leave the seminar?
In each hands-on class you will fabricate items to include in your portfolio, displays, or to show potential clients and designers, assisting in your ability to sell added details in the future.
May I photograph or video classes?
Photographs are welcome and encouraged. Video of classes will not be permitted.
Is there transportation available from the airport to Camp Allen?
Via airport: Fly into George Bush Intercontinental (IAH) Airport. Shuttle service is available at $25/person each way through Camp Allen. General pickups are at 10:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Group pickups are preferred; additional arrangements may be available. Contact info@csisews.com for more information. Camp Allen is approximately one hour from the airport.
Besides the classes listed on the website and registration, what other events will be featured during the weekend?
- Networking, networking, networking! A goal of this weekend is to provide you a situation in which you can meet as many colleagues in the general vicinity of your existing business, so you can keep in touch and continue to share information long after the seminar is over.
- The theme "Education is Sweet!" will be carried throughout the weekend, and you will receive several surprise treats correlating to this theme.
